Ben F. Masengill died Thursday at his residence, 810 Baldwin avenue, after a lingering illness, in his 63rd year. He was a native of Sullivan county, Tennessee, but had lived in Norfolk the past 19 years. He was highly esteemed and had many friends. He was a member of Epworth Methodist Episcopal Church, South, and of the Masonic fraternity, being a member of Zollicoffer lodge of Bluff City, Tenn. He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. W.D. Rhudy of Elizabethton, Tenn. and Miss A. Lillian Masengill of Norfolk and four sons, Thurman Masengill, Robert T. Masengill, F. Nel(Uel) Masengill and Harold E. Masengill, all of Norfolk. The funeral will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at the residence and the service will be conducted by Rev. S.T. Senter. Interment in Elmwood cemetery.
