William Henry Willey of Sanbornville, N.H. was married in Laconia, N.H. by Rev. L. J. Bamberg to Mrs. Sarah Abigail (Sanborn) Rand. They had been childhood friends. She was his third wife and the third with the name Sarah. They resided in Sanbornville where they ran a grain store. They attended the Methodist Church, which they lived across the street from. He was born in Brookfield, N.H. June 16, 1844. At the age of 12, when his father died, he took over the business of his father's farm. He later engaged in the cutting and manufacturing of lumber. In time his sawmill became one of the most enterprising businesses in the area. He opened his mercantile in 1883. This he stocked with general merchandise and grain. Many of the old houses in Sanbornville were erected by him. He married first Sarah Ellen Hayes Jan. 1, 1865. She was born in 1847 in Wolfeboro, N.H., daughter of Joseph Hayes. He married second in Great Falls, N.H. to Sarah E. Drown Dec. 24, 1877. She was born in Strafford, N.H., daughter of John and Eleanor Drown. He died Feb. 2, 1928 and was buried in the Sanbornville Cemetery along with his first two wives. In the Methodist Church there is a stained glass window dedicated to him and one of his wives. His parents were William and Susan (Henderson) Willey. Sarah (Sanborn) (Rand) Willey died March 23, 1931 in Laconia, N.H. where she was buried in Bayside Cemetery.
