CANEBRAKE, WEST VIRGINIA-Robert Naillon, age 92, of Ecorse, Michigan, formerly of Canebrake, West Virginia, died Friday, July 21, in a Trenton, Michigan hospital.

Born April 8, 1908 in Naillon Town, Tennessee, he was a son of the late Ruben and Lottie Brown Naillon. He moved to Canebrake, West Virginia over sixty years ago and for the past year, he made his home with his son and daughter-in-law, Edward Naillon and his wife, Jewell, of Ecorse, Michigan.

He had worked for the New River and Pocahontas Fuel Company for over twenty years. He was of the protestant faith.

His wife, Stacy Sutton Naillon; two daughters, Kate Carroll and an infant; two sisters, Alice Jenkins and Stacy Bradburn; four brothers, Bruce Naillon, Walter Naillon, Douglas Naillon, and Tilman Naillon preceded him in death.

Survivors include four daughters, Sue Pinter, of Herndon, Virginia, Ruth Bobbitt, of Woodlawn, Virginia, Edna Cummings, of Hope Mills, North Carolina, and Nancy Hardy, of Canebrake, West Virginia; four sons, Sam Naillon, of Woodhaven, Michigan, Benny Naillon, of Trenton, Michigan, Edward Naillon, of Ecorse, Michigan, and Milburn Naillon, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two sisters, Mayme Linsey, of Cosby, and Cora Sprouse, of Morristown; 26 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, July 24, at the Canebrake Freewill Baptist Church at Canebrake, West Virginia, with the Rev. Max Linkous and the Rev. Arey Bandy officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memory Gardens at Bluefield, Virginia.

The family will receive friends after 6 p.m. Sunday, July 23, at Canebrake Freewill Baptist Church at Canebrake, West Virginia.

Peery & St. Clair Funeral Home in Tazewell, Virginia are in charge of arrangements.
