Services for Josephine Baker, 84, of Lubbock will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Englunds Chapel with the Rev. Cleve Haley, of Oakwood Baptist Church, officiating.

Burial will be Englewood Cemetery under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service.

She died Saturday, Sept. 12, 1998, at Levelland Nursing Home.

She was born Sept. 6, 1914, in Soper, Okla., and married George S. Baker Dec. 13, 1939. He preceded her in death Feb. 6, 1985.

She moved to the South Plains area from Paris, Texas, in 1928. She lived in Gordon, Southland and Wilson before moving to Lubbock in 1972.

She was an active volunteer for Oakwood Baptist Church, Wilson's First Baptist Church's GA program and Meals on Wheels. She was a member of Oakwood Baptist Church and a homemaker.
