James W. Six, for 22 years a justice of peace in Argenta, died today at St. Mary's hospital following a stroke. He had been in failing health for a year but did not become seriously ill until two months ago. Two years ago he left Argenta where he also had served as a funeral director before becoming a justice of peace. He was a member of the Methodist church, IOOF, Masonic lodges in Argenta.

He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Six, born near Winchester, July 2, 1850. He married Sarah Slagle in Winchester. She died in 1928. He leaves six children: Mrs. Millie Priest, Fresno, Calif.; Edgar, Los Angeles; Mrs. Pearl Hickman, Cerro Gordo; Francis R., Tulsa; Mrs. Gladys Sullivan, Cisco; Mrs. Edith Clifton, Decatur, with whom he made his home for the last two years; sister Mrs. Clara Rodgers, Orange, Calif.
