Rochester - Fayette "Fay" A. Hill, 90, died Tuesday evening, February 5, 2013 at Rutland Healthcare in Rutland.

He was born June 4, 1922 in Rochester the son of Albert and Marjory (Keezer) Hill.

Fay attended Rochester schools and graduated from Rochester High School in 1940. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during WW II. He was married to Vivian Kidder while still in the service. Mrs. Hill died in 2001. He later married Olive (Bowen) Johnson in 2002 in Rochester. In earlier years Fay worked at Hubbard's Store in Rochester. He later worked for Vermont Marble Co. at their quarry in Rochester for 20 years before working as a carpenter for Hawk Mountain, in Rochester, until his retirement. Fay enjoyed playing horseshoes, cribbage, the harmonica and pool. He also enjoyed hunting, ice skating and swimming. He had served as a volunteer fireman for the Rochester Fire Dept.

He is survived by his wife Olive Hill of Rochester, 3 daughters; Marcia Hill of Macon, GA, Gay Deluca of Wilmington, NC and Paula Boshart of Hyde Park, NY, a son Lynn Hill of Proctor, 8 grandchildren and several great and great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and first wife, he was predeceased by a brother Richard Hill and a sister Alberta Aldrich.

Graveside memorial services will be held in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Rochester, at a date and time to be announced later. There are no calling hours.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Day Funeral Home, Randolph.
