J. JANSKY, SR., TISCH MILLS PIONEER, DEAD
Illness Last Month Prevents The Couple From Celebrating
Golden Anniversary.
Joseph Jansky, Sr., aged 78 years, Tisch Mills, father of Victor
and Frank Jansky of this city, passed away at the farm home at
Tisch Mills on Thursday. He had been in failing health for the
past few weeks and his illness prevented the celebration of the
golden wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Jansky last month.
Funeral services for the deceased will be held Tuesday morning
at 10 o'clock from St. Mary's Catholic church there with interment
in the cemetery at Tisch Mills.
Born in Bohemia June 4, 1852, the deceased came to America with
his parents as a boy of nine, and the family settled on a farm in
Kewaunee county. He grew up there and in 1880 was married to Mary
Stangel. They sold their farm in Kewaunee county and purchased
another near Tisch Mills where they resided ever since. Mr. Jansky
retired from active farming about 15 years ago, his son taking
charge of the farm.
Widow, Nine Children, Survive
Besides his widow, the deceased is survived by eight sons, Joseph Jr.,
of Wausau, Peter of Norman, Victor and Frank of this city, Louis of
Rockwood, Otto of Pittsburgh, Edward of Tisch Mills and Emil of
Chicago; and one daughter, Mrs. John Kaiser of Tisch Mills. The
deceased was a member of the Holy Name Society at Tisch Mills.
