He was preceded in death by his parents, James Alexander and Jalia Mahaylie (Pippin) Atchley; his wife, Helen Louise Wallpe Atchley; twin infant sons, Oscar Michael Atchley and John Joseph Atchley and one sister, Mary (Atchley) Edwards.
Survivors include one son and wife of Conway; five daughters and spouses all of Conway, a daughter and husband of Batesville, a daughter and husband of Maumelle; 8 grandchildren and spouses all of Conway, 2 grandchildren of Batesville; 6 great grandchildren of Sherwood, 3 grandchildren of Vilonia.
He was admired and loved by a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services began Wednesday, October 30, 2002, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Batesville with Father John McDougal officiating. Burial followed in the Oaklawn Cemetery located in Batesville with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville. Visitation was Tuesday, October 29, 2002, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. A Rosary was held from 6:00 until 6:30 p.m. with Father Les Farley officiating.Pallbearers were Philip Antici, Lester Meyer, Mark Mace, George Latus, Justin Meyer and Corey Cooper.
