Willie was the son of Carl Jackson Tomlinson and Myrtle May Wilson Tomlinson. He married Irene Stevens 5-23-1953.

Funeral services for Mr. Willie C. "Bill" Tomlinson, 78, were to be held at 10 a.m.today, May 24, 2004, at North Acres Baptist Church in Minden with the Rev. Roy Strother officiating and the Rev. Bill Ichter assisting. Burial will follow at Lane Memorial Cemetery in Sibley under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden.

Mr. Tomlinson, a native of Hampton, Ark., and a resident of Minden since 1946, passed away Friday, May 21, in Minden. He was a retired heavy equipment operator for Madden Construction Co. for 30 years. He was a World War II Navy veteran and a member of North Acres Baptist Church, where he was also a deacon for 48 years. May 23 would have been Mr. and Mrs. Tomlinson's 51st wedding anniversary.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Houston and Gerald Tomlinson; and sister, Vera Nutt.

He is survived by his wife, Irene Stevens Tomlinson of Minden; one son, Jimmy Davis and his wife, LaDonna of Minden; one daughter, Judith Trant and husband Eddie of Birmingham, Ala.; one brother, Joe T. Tomlinson of Minden; three grandchildren, Steve Davis of Minden, Troy Trant of Montgomery, Ala., Wendy Green of Birmingham; three step-grandchildren, Kristi Woods of Fouke, Ark., Clint and Shane Woods of Minden; and four great-grandchildren, Darby Green, Courtney and Hutton Woods, and Josh Hortman.

Pallbearers were to be Jimmy Heflin, Bud Sandidge, Mike Powell, Shelby Edwards, C.L.Albritton and Joe Biles. Honorary pallbearers were to be all the deacons of NorthAcres Baptist Church.
