Herce E. Corman


Herce E Corman, 81, Valley View, died at his home today at 1:20 a.m. following an illness of seven weeks. He was a resident of the community the past 58 years.


He was born at Eagleville March 10, 1880, a son of Elias and Sarah Hazel Corman. In 1903 he married the former Rozena Eckley, who died in 1936. He is survived by two daughters, Miss Hazel Corman and Miss Hilda Corman, both at home; a son, Lynn Corman, Valley View; a grandson, Lynn Jr.; brothers and sisters, Albert Corman, Valley View; Mrs. Eleanor Shay, Bellefonte; and Mrs. Charles Bollinger and Clyde Corman, both of Akron, Ohio.


Mr. Corman was a life-long member of the Valley View Evangelical United Brethren Church, was a trustee, and had served as Sunday School superintendent, adult Bible teacher and class leader and as a steward of the church. He was assessor of Benner Township and had served as school director and as secretary of Road Supervisors.


Rev. Charles L. Klinger, Houserville, will officiate at the service at the Valley View EUB Church Friday at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Myers (sic) cemetery (sic), Benner Township.


Friends will be received at the Wetzler Funeral Home, Bellefonte, Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and at the church from Friday noon to funeral time.
