OTTUMWA - Clarence S. Dicks, 82, of 933 W. Williams died at 3:14 p.m. Dec. 11, 1993, at his home. He was born January 28, 1911, in Monroe County to William S. and Emma Henderson Dicks. He married Mildred Dale Dec. 7, 1935. She died Sept. 9, 1970. He later married Marjorie Kuhn Sept. 1, 1973. She died Aug. 27, 1990. He farmed near Blakesburg for 13 years and was an employee of John Morrell & Co. for 31 years, retiring in 1973. He was a member of the Church of Brethren and bowled in Golden Age League. He is survived by five sons, Earl E. of Payson, Ariz., Kenneth E. of Ottumwa, Robert S. of Batavia, Ernest E. of Bloomfield and Carl L. of Cedar Rapids; a daughter, Karen Madden of Ottumwa; three stepsons, Mike Kuhn of Pella, Charles Kuhn of Ottumwa and Robert Kuhn of Saudi Arabia; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; seven step grandchildren; three sisters, Esther Stephens and Grace Bloodsworth of Albia and Margaret Ellis of Cedar Rapids; and a half sister, Janice Remington of Albia. He was preceded in death by a son, Charles; a grandson; twin brothers, Otis and Otha; and a sister, Ruth Tutor. The service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Church of Brethren, the Rev. Samuel Norris officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery. Visitation will be open at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa. Family visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Earl, Kenneth, Robert, Ernest, Carl, Kent and Greg Dicks, Mike and Charles Kuhn and Karen Madden. Memorials may be made to his church.
