Ms. Joyce Patterson Peacock, 79 of Thomaston, passed away Sunday, February 3, 2013, at the Molena Health & Rehabilitation in Molena.
Born in Anderson, SC on August 28, 1933, she had lived in the Thomaston/Conyers area since 2008. She was a C.N.A. having worked at Baptist Village and had also worked at the Spatola Shoe Factory. Ms. Peacock was a member of Blackshear Church of God.
Ms. Peacock was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Frank & Myrtie Lena Brannon Patterson. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, James Paul Peacock; four sisters, Ivesta Flowers, Mildred Revels, Margie Stone and Mary Wilson; a brother, Frank Patterson; and by a son-in-law, Kenny Melson.
Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Diane Wynn McQuaig & Carl Perry of Atlanta, Gayle Melson of Stockbridge and Nancy & Randy Tennyson of Thomaston; a son and daughter-in-law, Randy & Rene Peacock of Blackshear; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Shirley James of Waycross and Glenda & Jerry Roberson of Patterson; a brother and sister-in-law, Bill & Burnice Patterson of Travelers Rest, SC; 7 grandchildren, Heather Wynn (O'Rayne) Samuels, Nicole Goddin, Leslie Melson, Clint Melson, Eric Tennyson, Jason Tennyson, Jason Strickland and Justin Strickland; 9 great grandchildren, Xavier Samuels, Cole Goddin, Caleb Goddin, Chance Goddin, Legend Goddin, River Goddin, Clay Melson, Alana Tennyson and Avery Tennyson, and several nieces, nephews & other relatives.
Visitation:
Visitation for Ms. Peacock will be held one hour prior to the service at the Blackshear church of God.
Service:
Funeral services for Ms. Peacock will be held Thursday afternoon, February 7, 2013, at 3:00 o'clock at the Blackshear Church of God.
Cemetery:
Interment will be in the Blackshear Cemetery.
