She was the daughter of Asa C. Winsett and his second wife Lillie B. Gorrell, first married Herman Michael Voight on 12 Apr 1931 at Bryan County, Oklahoma and were the parents of a daughter, Joyce Anita Voight, before divorcing. On 8 Jul 1950 she married Harlan Embry Tyson.
