WILLIAM BATES
Joaquin, Texas, June 6 (Special) -- "Uncle Billie" Bates, 83 years old, died at the home of his son in the Jackson community, Wednesday morning following a lingering illness. Interment was in the Jackson cemetery. He is survived by two sons, Larkin and Dave and several grandchildren. Bates was a Confederate soldier and fought in the battle of Mansfield, La.
