Jordan Walton and Mary M. Jones were united in marriage September 6, 1878, to this union were born eleven children, 5 sons and 6 daughters, one son and two daughters have passed on.

Mrs. Walton was killed near her home on October 14, by a Baltimore and Ohio train. She was 63 years, 9 months and 15 days old. She had just returned from a visit with her daughter, Mrs. Karl Kroninger, at Columbus Sunday evening and was on her way Tuesday morning to spend the day with her daughter, Mrs. Martin Sorrel at Hamden, at which time she met her death.

Those left to mourn their loss are husband, 4 sons and 4 daughters, Mrs. Sarah McDonald of Frankfort, Ben, of McArthur, Harvey, of Chillcothe, Mrs. Effie Sorrel, of Hamden, Mrs. Elizabeth Kroninger, of Columbus, Harley, Roy and Goldie, at home, 15 grandchildren, one brother and three sisters, besides a host of relatives and friends. To know her was to love her and the community was sadly shocked when the news of her death was told to them.

A precious on from us has gone,
A voice we loved in stilled.
A place is vacant in our home,
Which never can be filled.
Sleep on Mother.
Take thy rest.
'Tis hard to part
But God knoweth "best".
