A. J. Altenbach, Lima Barber, Dies Monday

A. J. Altenbach, of 127 W. Vine-st, operator of a barber shop at Main and Vine-sts, died at 7 a.m. Monday in St. Rita's hospital after an illness of one and one-half years.

Altenbach, who operated the barber shop for over 40 years, had lived in this vicinity most of his life. He was a member of St. John Catholic church, the Holy Name society and the Order of Catholic Foresters.

He is survived by his widow, Catherine, and two brothers, Lewis of Moberley, Mo., and William of Decatur, Ill.; one sister, Mrs. Emma Curtis of Marion, Ind., and five grandchildren.

Requiem high mass will be celebrated Thursday in St. John Catholic church at a time to be announced.

The body was to be removed from the Cantwell funeral home to the residence, 127 W. Vine-st, Monday, where it will remain until time of rites.
