Robert Lee Cashwell
Tarboro – Robert Lee Cashwell, 70, died March 5, 2003 at home after a short illness. He was the son of the late David Atlas Cashwell and Edna Robinson of Garland.
Mr. Cashwell was born December 8, 1932 in Sampson County. He played basketball and graduated from Garland High School in 1951. That same year he went to work with Carolina Telephone where he worked for 42 years until his retirement in 1993.
Graveside services and burial will be held at 11 AM on Saturday March at Antioch United Methodist Church, Garland, [NC].
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Elmina Coble; one daughter, Roberta Elmina Cashwell of Bucks County, PA; three sons, David Lee and wife, Connie Pistolis of Tarboro, Philip Clay and wife, Cathrine Marsh of Charlottesville, VA; and Cameron Coble and wife, Phyllis Landis of Tarboro. There are three granddaughters, Stephanie Lee, Cathrine Elizabeth and Rebecca Sallie Cashwell. In addition, he is survived by a sister, Louise Cashwell Carter, and husband of Garland. Many nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins, and a feline family are left to mourn his passing.
Visitation will be held at Carlisle Funeral Home in Tarboro on Friday, March 7 between 7-9 PM.
