Dorothy Erickson, 90, of Greeley died at Life Care Center in Greeley. She was born in Fort Collins, Co. to Charles and Cleone(Patterson)Bayler. On March 31, 1940, she married Wilfred Erickson in Kimball, Neb. He died in 1976.
"Mrs. Erickson was formerly from Grover and had lived in Greeley since 1985. She graduated from Grover High School in 1930 and received a bachelor's degree from Colorado State College of Education, now the University of Northern Colorado. She taught in one-room country schools in Weld County, including Prairie View, Platteville, Grover and Severance elementary schools. In 1977, she retired from the Grover school.
Mrs. Erickson was a member of the Greeley China Painting Guild and the West Pawnee Club. An avid bowler and traveler, she also enjoyed baking, china painting and gardening, as well as her animals. She was a lifelong learner and loved spending time with her family and friends."
She is survived by a daughter and two sons, a niece, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother.
