Velma May was born to Les and Ruby Grimm.
She was the third of seven children; she being the only girl. She graduated from Lewiston High and went to business college to learn bookkeeping.
She married Russell Dodson; he died in 1943 while in the service.
She then married Art Woodruff.
He also died, and in 1960 she married Gordon Diehl, who died after 50 years of marriage.
