Lifelong Resident of County Dies at Soldiers Home
Jefferson Jones, a life long resident of Champaign county, with the exception of the time he spent in the Civil War, passed away at the Soldiers' Home in Danville, Wednesday morning, after an illness of some duration. For quite awhile he had been living north of Homer, but a few weeks ago he was taken to the Soldiers' Home where he could receive better care... Burial will take place this afternoon a at three o'clock at Huss Chapel.
Mr. Jones was born in this county the 22nd day of April, 1844 and grew to manhood in this vicinity. For many years he lived north of this village and ran a threshing machine. He was married twice, his first wife who survives him, marrying again and his now Mrs. Joshua Clark, and lives in Urbana. His second wife is dead. Three children are still living: Mrs. Walter Johnson of Homer, Mrs. Charles McCoy of Broadlands, and Mrs. Clora Reedy of Iowa.
He also leaves one sister, Mrs. Mahala White who lives with her daughter, Mrs. Wm. Moser near Deers, and two brothers, William, of Urbana, and Charles of Anderson, Ind.
