Burnice Smith Durham, 99, passed away February 1, 2013 at Carolina Point in Durham. She was the daughter of the late Robert Smith and Alice Brooks Smith and the wife of the late Bernard Kitchin Durham.
She was an active member of Antioch Baptist Church and loved her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking for her family and also spending her time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include her son, Kitchin Durham and wife, Hilda; daughter, Sedelia Campbell and husband, Marlon; sisters, Hilda Warren and Delilah Daniel; brother, Howard Smith; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
She was preceeded in death by sisters, Lenner Morris, Bessie May Smith and Louise McCauley; brothers, Hoyt Smith, Clifford Smith and Bill Smith.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday February 4, 2013 at Antioch Baptist Church, with Pastor Dave Atwater and Pastor Ernie Keck officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
