OBITUARY.

..."CHARLES ABRAHAM BAILIFF, son of Peter and Mattie Phillips Bailiff, was born May 2, 1886, near Mt. Etna, Iowa, and passed away Nov. 10, 1955, at the Rosary Hospital in Corning, Adams County, Iowa, at the age of 69 [?] years, six months and eight days. He had been confined to the hospital for a little over a week previous to his death.

Abe, as he was known, was the youngest of a family of 10 children, six preceding him in death. They were Susie Bailiff Means, J.E., W.G., Frank, Jesse, and L.P. Bailiff.
.
Surviving him are Peter Bailiff of Mt. Etna, Mrs. Maude [Bailiff] Burgett of Quincy, Iowa, and Miss Maggie Bailiff of near Mt. Etna, with whom he lived for many years. He also leaves a host of nieces and nephews as well as many friends.
.
Abe spent most of his life in and around Mt. Etna. He was a friend to all, a conscientious worker, and more than willing to help anyone in need.
.
Services were held Sunday, Nov. 13, at 2:00 P.M., from the Church of the Brethren in Mt. Etna. The Rev. W.B. Gahm was in charge, assisted by Rev. Harry K. Rogers.
.
Music was furnished by a quartette composed of Mrs. Walton Boswell, Mrs. John Dotson, Clarence Johnston and Charles Johnston. Mrs. Donna Angus was the pianist.
.
Walton Boswell, Emmett Thompson, Kermit Patton, Frank Carr, Harold Williams and Carroll Mercer served as Pall Bearers.
.
Interment was in the Mt. Etna Cemetery."
