Instant death came to Manley D. Patton, 32, of South Bend, early Sunday morning, when a tree fell across the middle of his car on the road between here and Raymond. His companion, Miss Bertha Skidmore, was badly injured and was pinned in the machine more than an hour. The accident was the result of the loosening of a tree by a landslide, during the severe gale that swept the twin harbors Sunday morning. Montesano Vidette March 2, 1933.
