TIGARD — Les Golbek, 82, died Sunday.
He was born in Guy, N.M., and grew up in Oklahoma. He served in the Navy during World War II and moved to Oregon in 1944. In 1945 he settled in Dallas. He was park system supervisor for the city of Dallas, retiring in 1982. He enjoyed animals and raised sheep and goats on his farm. He also enjoyed gardening and fishing.
Survivors include his daughter, Phyllis Brostrom of Sherwood; sons, Harvey of Portland and Les Jr. of Coos Bay; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Bollman Funeral Home in Dallas. Interment will be in Dallas Cemetery. Contributions: Alzheimer's Association, Mid-Willamette Chapter, 525 Glen Creek Road NW, Suite 200, Salem, OR 97304.
