Geneva Gibson Campbell, 90, of 105 Columbia Court in Campbellsville, died at 10:30 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 16 [1984] at the Metzmeier Nursing Home in Campbellsville. She was a member of the Bethel First Presbyterian Church. She was a retired school teacher having taught more than 55 years in several school systems. She was a former principal of the Shepherdsville School System and taught many years in the Campbellsville School System. She was a former librarian of Campbellsville College, University of Louisville and Spalding College in Louisville. She was a recipient of numerous state and national educational awards. She was a member of the Honorable Order of Eastern Star and a former Worthy Matron. She united in marriage to Lee Campbell June 10, 1937. He preceded her in death April 8, 1975. She is survived by three step-daughters: Mrs. Ray (Edna) Knifley and Bonnie Coppock Nordby, both of Campbellsville, and Mrs. William (Kizzie) Mahan of Ashland, Ky. One step-son, Crawley Campbell, preceded her in death. Besides her step-daughters, she is survived by 12 step-grandchildren; 13 step-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-grandson; two nieces of Campbellsville: Kathryn Owens and Elizabeth Smith, and several other nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. Funeral was at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19 at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville by the Rev. Ralph M. Weedon. Burial was in Bethel Cemetery.
