ALBANY — Ted Macy, 87, died Thursday.

He was born in Pleasant Plain, Iowa, and graduated from high school in Richland, Iowa. He joined the Navy in 1934, served during World War II and moved to Oregon after retiring. He worked in a collection agency and for the state of Oregon, retiring and living in Mesa, Ariz., part of the year. He was a member of the Lions, Elks American Legion, Springhill Country Club and Men's Golf Association.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth, whom he married in 1968; son, Frederick of Salem; stepson, Neal Craig of Albany and Hawaii; daughter, Marianne Macy of Patchogue, N.Y.; stepdaughters, Patricia Dumas of Medford, Cathy Mullen of Lake Oswego, and Susan Nedry of Temple, Texas; brother, James of Ashland; sisters, Margaret Grier of Palm Springs, Calif., Marceil Phillips of Livingston, Texas, and Charlotte Blumenstein of Florence; five grandchildren; 11 stepgrandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and 11 step-great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Willamette Memorial Park. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in the First United Methodist Church where he was a member. Contributions: Evergreen Hospice or the church care of Fisher Funeral Home.
