Services for Chester M. Gibson, 82, 534 S. Oak, who died today at Ransom
Memorial Hospital, will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 23, at the Lamb-
Roberts Funeral Home with burial in Worden Cemetery, Worden.
Gibson was born March 12, 1894, near Centropolis, the son of John and
Julia (Noel) Gibson. He lived his entire life in the Ottawa community
and was employed by Franklin County for many years before his retirement
in 1959. He was a member of Warren Black No. 60 of the American Legion
and was a Navy veteran of World War I.
Gibson was married May 21, 1919 near Worden, to Henrietta Pohl. She
survives at the home.
Also surviving are two sons, Raymond C. Gibson, 1201 Davis, and Dudley
E. Gibson, 614 S. Cherry; a daughter, Mrs. Aurelia Johnson, 1528 S. Oak;
two sisters, Mrs. Lottie Merchant, Baldwin City, and Mrs. Stella Gould,
926 S. Locust; a brother, Ben Gibson, 709 N. Main; five grandchildren,
and many nieces and nephews.
