Daniel W Blocher died Wednesday afternoon at his home east of Austin, in Johnson township. He had been seriously ill for several weeks with heart trouble and for the past two weeks his death had been expected. He was one of the county's prominent citizens and farmers and was widely known for his fine stock and enterprise as a farmer.
He was the son of the late Jefferson H Blocher, of Blocher, and grandson of that famous pioneer and statesman Daniel W Blocher.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Bourke, and an adopted daughter Lavern Blocher and two sisters.
He always took a deep interest in county affairs and was interested in the progress of Scott county and was held in high esteem by all who knew him. He was 67 years of age. The funeral was held at M. E. Church, Scottsburg, Friday at 1 p.m. with burial at Scottsburg Cemetery."
