Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 4, for Mrs. Ida Tharp, daughter of the late James Elijah Cave and Mrs. Mary Bowles Cave. Burial was at Bethel Cemetery following services at the Liberty Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Rev. Calvin Mouser and Rev. H. L. Hinch were in charge of the services. Mrs. Tharp was born in Taylor County on March 22, 1873 and was 81 years old. She died at her home in the Meadow Creek neighborhood on Sunday, January 2 at 5:20 a.m. She had been in ill health for the past year. She professed faith in Christ at an early age in life and was a member of the Liberty Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She united in marriage to Mr. William Thomas Anderson some 65 years ago. He preceded her in death 52 years ago. To this union three sons were born: James Elijah Anderson, Bowling Green; George Anderson and Reason Anderson, both of Taylor County. In 1905 Mrs. Anderson united in marriage to Mr. Charles Samuel Tharp, who preceded her in death in February, 1939. To this union three sons and one daughter were born. Surviving are Owen, Clem and Clinton Tharp, all of Taylor County. Ruth Tharp died in infancy. Survivors also include three step-daughters and two step-sons: Mrs. Sadie Dearen, Bradfordsville; Mrs. Minnie Miles, Lebanon; Mrs. Sallie Murphy, Harrodsburg; and Robert and Preston Tharp, Farmer City, Ill. Besides children, Mrs. Tharp is survived by one sister, Mrs. Luther Campbell, Taylor County, and one brother, Reason Cave, also of Taylor County, two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The pallbearers were Arthur and Winfrey Hayes, Richard Gaines, Henry Nance, Harry Richerson, and Redman Turner.
