AUGUSTA -- Violet Pearl Sebrell, 72, of Augusta died Tuesday, July 4, 2006, at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta. She was born in Augusta Feb. 20, 1934, the daughter of Clarence and Bertha York. She grew up in Augusta and attended Augusta schools. She worked in several area shoe shops and for several area retailers. Later, she spent much time raising her family. Violet enjoyed fishing, gardening and spending time in the outdoors. Mrs. Sebrell was predeceased by two husbands, Earland Blake Jr. and William H. Sebrell; and 11 sisters and brothers. She is survived by her longtime friend and companion, Donald Register; two sons, Carl Clyde Blake of Alexandria, Va., and Earland Blake of Hope Mills, N.C.; two daughters, Christine Belk of Alexandria, Va., and Earlene Blake of Alexandria; three brothers, Richard, Arthur and Raymond York; two sisters, Alice Foren and Evelyn White; and two grandchildren, Rebecca Murphy and Earland Allen.
