(Name has also been found as Luther Lee and L. L.) From obituary in the Oregonian:

Lee L. Dougan, former Portland architect who designed a number of prominent buildings throughout Oregon, died Sunday in Palos Verdes Estates, CA after a short illness. He was 100.

Born 7/28/1883 in Princeton, IN, he moved to Portland in 1903 after attending Armour Institute of Technology in Chicago and Kansas State University. One of his first jobs was as an office boy for the architect Frank Lloyd Wright. He was a partner in Haughtaling and Dougan until he opened his own firm in 1926. Two of his buildings, the Elks Building in Portland and the Civic Building in The Dalles, are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. He was also an accomplished artist, illustrating a column in the Oregonian during the 1930's on Pacific Coast wildlife.

He retired well into his 80's and moved to California 12 years ago. He returned to Portland in 1979 for the rededication of one of his refurbished buildings. He attributed his long life to a sparse diet, the practice of yoga, not smoking, and the rare drink.

He was married first to Gussie McCormick, with whom he had son Donald (an architect) and daughter, Lillith Healy. They divorced in 1920. He married Ella, with whom he had daughter Dorothy Bryon and son Bryan Dougan. Ella and Donald predeceased him in 1970. He was survived by his 3 children and 5 grandchildren.
