Opal Beck was born Mary 31, 1895 in Thurber, Texas, the daughter of John and Sidney Lambert MacDonald. She leaves half-brothers, Robert MacDonald of Dexter, Missouri and William MacDonald of Memphis, Tennessee.
She married Harry Beck in Murphysboro. He preceded her in death in 1963. Surviving are daughters, Mrs. M. J. Murphy of Centralia and Mrs. James H. Fulton of Fort Worth, Texas.
Mrs. Beck was a member of the First Lutheran Church and the St. Joseph Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She died in the Jackson County Nursing Home, Murphysboro at the age of 77.
