Husband of Sarah Parkman
Marian Parkman was born on April 15, 1840, in Columbus, Georgia. He came to Texas immediately after discharge from the army in the Civil War, settling first at Jefferson, where he lived a couple of years. He moved from there to the Ramah community, where he lived the rest of his life.
Mr. Parkman was married twice. Survivors included his wife and 4 sons: Cliff Parkman of Tenaha, W. D. Parkman of Center, J. B. Parkman of Port Arthur, and Howard Parkman of Paxton. His daughter, Mrs. Johnson, died in 1906. Mr. Parkman was a member of the Baptist Church. He was known affectionately as "Uncle Marion."
