Ethel F. Barker, age 82, of Hamburg, IA passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at Methodist Hospital in Omaha, NE.
Ethel was born on November 11, 1930 in Criag, MO; the daughter of James H. and Ethel (Johnson) Honea.
Ethel was united in marriage to Paul J. Barker on July 7, 1947 in Craig, MO. He preceded her in death on September 6, 2000. She was a devoted wife and mother.
She is survived by her children: Jon Barker and wife Joanie of Jonesboro, AR; James Robert Barker of Shenandoah, IA; Candace Bradley and husband Michael of Hamburg, IA; Orville Barker of Salem, OR; Eric Barker and wife Cindy of Sheridan, OR; Randy Barker and wife Kim of Riverton, IA; Jay Barker and wife Bobbi of Bayard, IA and Penny Lockhart of Hamburg, IA; 20 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild; siblings J.H. Honea and wife Mary of Shenandoah, IA; Goldie Parkhurst of Hamburg, IA and Lileth Kahue and husband Joe of Hamburg, IA; other family and friends.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter Peggy Maureen Barker, a grandson Brian Allen Barker, siblings: Lula Miller and Jimmy Honea and her parents
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 4, 2013 at Rash-Gude Funeral Home in Hamburg, IA. Burial will follow the services at Mt. Olive Cemetery in rural Hamburg, IA.
There will be open visitation on Monday, prior to the services, from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
