Moved to Scio in 1964. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, had been a 4-H leader for 25 years and enjoyed oil painting, sewing, cooking and gardening. Her husband, Howard, died in 1969. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Stayton. Survivors include her daughters, Patty Free of Sublimity, Jo Ann Shepherd of Beaverton and Rose Marie Goffin of Aumsville; and five grandchildren (Brian, Sean, Kimberly, Valerie, Christopher).
