Judy graduated from Barryton Rural Agricultural High School. She married Kenneth Olsson on November 5, 1955 in Barryton and together they made their home in Rodney for many years. As well as being a busy wife and mother, Judy will also be remembered as managing "Pappy's Bar and Grill" in Rodney.
Judy is survived by her loving family including her daughter, Judy (Jon) Brinkman of Stanwood; five sons, Ronald (Bambi) Olsson of Stanwood, Donald (Phyllis) Olsson of Mecosta, Kenneth (Melody) Olsson Stanwood, Mark (Peggy) Olsson of Lakeview, Randy (Rhonda) Olsson of Rodney; 18 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; a brother, Raymond VanSyckle of Paris; three sisters, Carlene (Richard) Cupit of Flint/Florida, Lela Spicer of Traverse City, Zoa Spaulding of Greenville; many nieces and nephews; dear friend Sharon Lennon of Mecosta and special friends and caregivers, Sharon, Missy "Niecie", Nina and Ralph, all of Great Lakes Caring Hospice.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth on June 7, 1991; a grandson, Dillan Olsson; and 10 brothers and sisters.
A spring burial and memorial will take place at the Rodney Cemetery. A notice will be printed in the Pioneer at that time.
Memorial contributions in Judy's name may be given to Great Lakes Caring Hospice; envelopes may be obtained or dropped off at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids where arrangements were made.
