VINTON H. SHUMWAY
Vinton H. Shumway, a retired 50-year printer with 26 years at the Wichita Eagle, died Monday.
Shumway, 82, of 1449 N. Emporia, was born Jan. 16, 1884 in Trinidad, Colo. He came to Wichita in 1927 from Hutchinson, Kan. and was employed by the Wichita Eagle until he retired in 1954. Shumway was a member of the Assembly of God Church and a 40-year member of the Typographical Union.
Survivors include his widow, Lula, and two sons, Rev. Charles W., Wichita and Rev. V. H. Jr., Nigeria, Africa.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Culbertson Mortuary. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
