Rita Gail Horn, age 66, of Pace, Florida went peacefully to be with our Lord, after a 14 year battle with cancer. She was born on November 15, 1946 in Canton, Georgia. Rita graduated from Crestview High School with the Class of '64.
Rita retired from Santa Rosa County School Board after working as an Administrative Assistant at the County Office. But her greatest work on this earth was the work for her Lord. She took great pride in her service as the organist at Immanuel Baptist Church for over 30 years.
She is preceded in death by Mack and Margaret Keith (parents), Curry and Grace Horn (parents in law), Sharon Keith (sister in law), Louie Moore (brother in law) and James Dalton (brother in law) and Scott Dalton (nephew).
Rita is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Ray Horn, her 3 children Kevin (Cheri) Horn of Navarre, FL; Natalie (John) Childs of Pace, FL; and Ashley (Kenny) Gonzalez of Pace, FL; 7 grandchildren Kevin (Allison) Horn II, Mack Horn, Christine Childs, Trey Childs, Emmy Childs, JR Gonzalez, and Allison Gonzalez and 1 great grandchild, Oliver Horn. She is also survived by siblings Andy (Carolyn) Keith, Becky Moore, Bobbie (Ken) Dukes, and Carolyn Dalton.
A time of visitation will be on Friday, February 1, 2013 at Immanuel Baptist Church in Pace from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. The celebration of Rita's life will begin at 3:00 p.m. There will be a private graveside ceremony in Destin, FL at a later date. Contributions may be made in Rita's name to Immanuel Baptist Church Building Fund (www.paceimmanuel.org)
