Wilbur L. Silk, 80, of Mount Wolf died at 9:50 a.m. Thursday at Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Shirley T. (King) Silk.
The service will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Workinger-Semmel Funer al Home Inc., 849 E. Market St., York. Burial will be in Windsor Cemetery, with military rites by York County Veterans Honor Guard. Viewing will be 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mr. Silk was born Oct. 11, 1918, in Hanover. He was the son of the late John W. and Hilda (Stahl) Silk.
He retired from the former Bowen-McLaughlin, where he was a crane operator. He served in the Civilian Conservation Corps and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Red Lion Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1446.
Mr. Silk also is survived by two sons, James E. Silk and Robert E. Silk, both of York; two stepdaughters, Pamela Van Hyning and Margaret DeWitt, both of Dover; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Rossco Silk of Florida and Donald Silk of York; eight sisters, Gladys Crone of Red Lion, Katherine Fields of Florida, and Elizabeth Heisey, Henrietta Watt, Emma Arnold, Ethel Murphy, Margaret Frey and Violet Knopp, all of York. Mr. Silk was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth E. Silk.
Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Keith Barker of Bethel Apostolic Church, and Mr. Silk's nephew, the Rev. Ronald Knopp.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Apostolic Church, 956 N. Duke St., York 17404.
