Peter Peterson Sollie was born in April of 1844 in Hommelvik, Sor-Trondelag, Norway. He met and married Sophia Haave in Norway. They emigrated from Norway to America and landed in New York City on June 4, 1888 accompanied by their five children, Peter, Martin, Edward, Petra and Olga. Peter lived in the Minneapolis area with his wife and 7 children until his death. He was preceded in death by his son Martin and daughter Elydia. He was survived by his wife, Sophia, and five children, Peter, Edward, Petra, Olga and Mable. Through their daughter Olga, who married Peter Andrews, Peter became the grandfather of the big band singing trio known as The Andrews Sisters, who were famous during World War II and were called "America's War-Time Sweethearts." The memorial page photograph is of his famous granddaughters.
