John B. Querio, 98, of Sagola, Michigan, formerly of Channing and Crystal Falls, died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2003, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in Iron Mountain.
John Querio was born on July 10, 1905, in Nashwauk, Minn., the son of the late Frank Querio and Natalina (Targetta) Querio.
He married Rene Rochon on Feb. 9, 1932, in Iron Mountain. She preceded him in death in February of 2001.
John worked for the Ford Motor Co. for many years before retiring in 1951.
He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to fish and hunt. He also enjoyed woodworking and gardening.
In addition to his wife, Rene A. Querio, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Joseph, Anton, Frank, Donald, and Caesar, and four sisters, Agnes, Mary, Louise, and Ann.
John was survived by a very special niece, Gloria Baker of Marquette, and one sister, Lena Brockington of Pinecrest Medical Care Facility, formerly of Iron Mountain.
