Maggie Edwards, 77, of 1728 S. 17th. in Abilene died at 8:45 a.m. in Community Hospital in San Antonio. Services were held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, June 4 in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Griffith, pastor of the East Side Baptist Church officiating.
Born Sept. 4, 1898 in Bell County, Mrs. Edwards came to Haskell at an early age. She married R. L. Kennedy Nov. 7, 1918 in Haskell. He died July 12, 1923. She married J. H. Edwards Jan. 16, 1926 in Haskell. He died Feb. 22, 1960.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Jim (Margaret) Coe of San Antonio, and two sisters-in-law, Mrs. L. D. Holcombe of Haskell and Dee Holcombe of Abilene, 3 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Sid Merchant (Texas Ranger & cousin), John Lee Holcombe, Wayne Thigpen, Richard Barton. D. R. Holcombe Jr, and Harold Johnson.
Internment was in Willow Cemetery directed by Holden- McCauley Funeral Home.
