Brede "Brady" Anderson was born 27 July 1849 at Mjor farm, near Gran, Norway (per Gran parish records).

Brede Anderson was born June 27, 1849 in Hadeland Norway. He came to this country in 1866 as a young man and has lived in this vicinity ever since. Mr. Anderson was a peaceable and quiet citizen. He went about his business and did everything to the best of his ability in a conscientious way. He was greatly disabled 18 years ago by a stroke of paralysis which affected his right side. Considering this disability Mr. Anderson has done remarkably well in his work on the farm. It is thought that it was a second stroke that took his life so suddenly New Years evening while unhitching his team having returned from attending the funeral of L.C. Olson and the meeting at the Lutheran church in the afternoon.
In 1867 he was married to Miss Bertha Hanson and their union was blessed with 8 children, 3 sons and 5 daughters. The three sons are Albert of Monroe, Alfred and Elmer, the blacksmiths of Argyle, and the five daughters are Mrs. Belle Marle, Freeport, Mrs. Albert Hendrickson, Argyle, Mrs. Fred Richter, Freeport, and Misses Bertha and Orpha who are at home.
Mr. Anderson is survived by his devoted wife and their entire family. He is also survived by two brothers, Gilbert Anderson of this place, Andrew Anderson, Minn., and a half-brother in Iowa.
