George Rudder "Corky" Allison, Jr., 85 of Birmingham, AL, died January 29, 2013. George was the son of George Rudder and Effie Mae Davis Allison, Sr. born November 13, 1927 in Stevenson, Alabama. "Corky" graduated from Stevenson High School Class of 1945 and was a graduate of Auburn University Class of 1950. Mr. Allison was a WWII U.S. Army Veteran serving 1945-1947. He had been a regional sales manager for Elanco Division of Eli Lilly and a member of Altadena Valley Presbyterian Church in Birmingham.
Besides his parents, "Corky" was preceded in death by his brother Edwin Allison.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years Betty Jo Mattox Allison of Birmingham, AL; sons: Robert Edwin Allison of Herron, Il, Bradford Eugene Allison of Birmingham, Timothy Wayne Allison of Starkville, MS; grandchildren: Matthew Rudder Allison of Philadelphia, PA, Meredith Miller Allison of Atlanta, GA, Kathryn Davis Allison of Birmingham, AL, Robert Seth Allison Lt. U.S. Army stationed in GA, Sarah Kathryn Allison of Carbondale, Il, Annika Ainsley Allison of Herron, IL, David Drew Allison of Atlanta, GA, Ann Elizabeth Allison of Starkville and Mary Margaret Allison also of Starkville,
The funeral service will be held Friday, February 1, at 10 AM at the Altadena Valley Presbyterian Church in Birmingham. The Graveside Service will be Friday at 3 PM at Stevenson City Cemetery in Stevenson, AL.
