William M. Kelly married Sarah "Sally" Beal (1775-1854) in 1799 in Brooke County, (West) Virginia. Sally was the daughter of Philip Beall and Mary Byers of Holidays Cove, Virginia. It is believed Sarah is buried next to her husband but either she did not have a stone or her stone fell into disrepair. William Kelley's will was dated January 9, 1849 and probated in March of 1854 in Harrison County, Ohio which was the year his wife died. It is assumed this explains why the delay in not probating his will after he died in 1851. The executors of the estate were Philip and Daniel Kelly and witnessed by Thomas Tomlinson and James Hanna. Sarah and the children were named in the will. I am a gt.gt.gt.gt. granddaughter of William and Sarah (Beall) Kelley/Kelly. Much of the family history was passed down from generation to generation. A family tree which was handwritten in the early 1920's was distributed among the various descendants living in Allamakee County, Iowa. In the 1970's I continued to update the information by using census reports, cemetery records, historical and biographical records and published books in Harrison County, Ohio and Allamakee County, Iowa and most recently through FAMILY SEARCH AND FIND A GRAVE which have supported the documentation which was already known.
