Born in Elbert County, he was a son of the late Raymond and Louetta Bell Barnes. He was a U.S. Army World War II veteran, retired from Trogdon Furniture Company and a member of the Church of the Nazarine.
Surviving are his widow; sons, Tommy Barnes of Toccoa and Glenn Barnes of Carnesville; daughter, Mrs. Patricia Black of Toccoa, Sisters, Mrs. Louise Thomas of Carnesville, Mrs. Catherine Phillips of Greenwood and Mrs. Josephine Rish of Prosperity, S.C.; five grandchildren; one great granddaughter.
Services at 3 p.m. Sunday at Glad Tidings Assembly of God by the Rev. Randy Valimont and the Rev. Leroy Phillips. Burial in Franklin Memorial Gardens.
