Thomas is the son of Green Harding
(9/18/1820-3/19/1886) and Sarah
Ann Stokes (2/24/1824-10/20/1862).
He was one of nine children.
Thomas married Barthinia McArthur on
December 10, 1868 in Quincy, Adams,
Illinois. Barthinia was born about
1852 in Indiana and died July 3, 1878
in Quincy, Adams, Illinois. They had
3 children: William (1876-1928),
Charles (1880-?) and Manerva.
On February 18, 1890 he married Mary E.
Hudson in Kansas City, Jackson, MO.
Mary was born in Kansas City, Jackson,
Missouri
On December 19, 1897 he married Harriet
E. Booth in Kansas City, Wyandotte,
Kansas. Harriet was born in December
1835 in Missouri.
Sarah Stokes Thomas's mother is buried at
Harding Cemetery which is recorded as
Hardin Cemetery, St. Alban's twp., Han-
cock County, Illinois. The cemetery is
completely overgrown in a stand of timber
on back end of a farmer's land. (Private
Property). It is possible that Abel and
Julia as well as some of Green Harding's
wives and infant children are buried there.
