A daughter of Joseph R. and Annie (Sipe) Young. She was united in marriage with Grant Lohr on Oct. 31, 1898 in Somerset, PA. The marriage record verifies her parents as Joseph and Joanna Young.

Ella and Grant had three children, Stella L. Lohr; Telford L. Lohr and Clarence R. Lohr.

In 1880 Ella Young was living with her parents on Tustin Street in Pittsburgh near the Monongahela River where her father worked as a puddler in the factory. In June 1881 her sister Elizabeth was born and in November 1881 her mother died of typhoid.

It is likely the children returned to Somerset with the grandparents after their mother died. Ella married and lived in Shade Township and later in Quemahoning township in Somerset County, PA.

Mrs. Lohr was intered at the Otterbein United Brethern Church Cemetery in Shade Twp., about 2 miles S.E. of Hooversville near Johnstown.
