Nels John Anderson, well known farmer of Rt. 114 east of the city, died at the age of 84 at his home shortly after 2 o'clock Friday afternoon, June 1.

Funeral services were held at the Canaday chapel at ten o'clock Monday morning with the Rev. Haller of Kankakee officiating and burial was in the Momence cemetery.

Nels John Anderson was born in Halmsted, Sweden, June 24, 1860. Had he lived for 23 more days, he would have been 85 years of age. Mr. Anderson came to the United States in 1893 and settled near Lake Village, Ind. On Nov. 17, 1894, he married there, Josephine Carlson, and some time later came to the Momence vicinity, having resided for 31 years on the farm where death occurred.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a son Isadore of Kankakee, two granddaughters, Mrs. Doris Betourne and Ruth, and a great granddaughter, Julia Ann Betourne, all of Kankakee.
