June Jones, 92, of Amarillo died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Comanche Trail Church of Christ with the Rev. Loren Harper officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by LaGrone-Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, 8310 S. Coulter St.

Mrs. Jones was born June 20, 1920, in Kansas to Loyd and Pearl Mae Chapin. She graduated from Friona high School in 1938 and married James D. Jones in 1940. Mrs. Jones was a drug manager at Furr's Grocery Store until retirement in 1983. She was a member of Comanche Trail Church of Christ. She loved her church family and enjoyed her sunshiner's trips. Mrs. Jones was an avid painter to canvas. June was well known and admired for her dedication to Christ and her strong Christian values. This unwavering faith will be her legacy here on Earth, and it is most certainly the crown of glory she wears now in her eternal home in Heaven.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and a beloved son, Benny Jones.

Survivors include a son, Joel Jones and wife Dottie of Dallas; two daughters, Doris Jones VanHoorn and husband Rich of Canyon and Shirley Sides and husband Harold of Wilderado; a sister, Jean Ooley of Cannon City, Colo.; a brother, Doyle Chapin of Panhandle; a daughter-in-law, Patti Jones of Santa Fe; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to Comanche Trail Church of Christ.

The family will receive guests from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
